Delivers State of the Province Address
CAPITOL HILL, Tarlac City---Governor Victor Yap gave a status report on the implementation of his administration’s agenda for the next three years and asked members of the Provincial Board for their support and cooperation through legislative measures during the inaugural session of the Sanguniang Panlalawigan [SP] last July 7 at the Session Hall here.
Yap gave his report, after Vice Governor Pearl Angeli Pacada and the members of the board delivered their inaugural messages.
Department heads, national and local governments, business, religious and civic organizations, the academe, law enforcers, family and staff of the provincial officials and capitol employees attended the inaugural session.
The young and energetic governor joined the members of the board in their first session after a body composed of fist time Board Members Danilo Asiaten, former three-term city councilors Antonio Cervantes Jr. and Enrico De Leon and former Gerona Mayor Harmes Sembrano of the second district, former Mayantoc Mayor Tito Razalan, re-elected Rommel David and former ABC President Noel Dela Cruz of the first district, re-elected Danilo David and former Concepcion councilors Henry Cruz and George Feliciano of the third district.
Board Members Asiaten, De Leon and Cruz went to the office of the governor and escorted the provincial chief executive to the session hall as protocol dictates.
In his speech, Yap asked the SP to work together on these priorities because they are essential ingredients of what living as one of the leading province of the country should be all about infrastructure, water, health, education; agriculture and food production, tourism, private and public sector partnership, public order and safety, information and communications technology, as well the protection of the Tarlaquenos and the environment.
Governor Yap expressed his thanks to Vice Gov. Pacada and the members of the provincial board for inviting him saying that their invitation and his presence perform not just a tradition, but an obligation to the Tarlaqueno people.
Other business matters in the inaugural session are house rules that would govern the SP and the selections of the different committee heads and members. The new member of the board has also decided to change the schedule of the regular session from the usual Thursday afternoon to Wednesday morning.
