Siblings Governor Victor and Congresswoman Susan Yap and other provincial officials took their oath of office last June 29 at the Bulwagan ng mga Gobernador here. The ceremonies started with an ecumenical prayer by different religious leaders in the province followed by singing of the national anthem and Awit ng Tarlac before the formal oath-taking ceremonies. Judge Liberty Castaneda of Regional Trial Court Branch 67 in Paniqui administered the oath to the provincial officials. Vice Governor Pearl Angeli Pacada together with the new set of Sangguniang Panlalawigan [SP] members which is composed of Board Members Tito Razalan, Rommel David and Noel Dela Cruz of the 1st district, Harmes Sembrano, Antonio Cervantes Jr., Enrico De Leon and Danilo Asiaten of the 2nd district, Danilo David, Henry Cruz and George Feliciano of the 3rd district took their pledge of office. In his speech, Gov. Yap cited the numerous accomplishments of the provincial government during first his term as governor, including the vast development of the Eco-tourism in the province. He likewise urged all elected officials to support the administration of President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III. “President Noynoy Aquino needs our support and as his kababayans, I am fully confident that all of Tarlac’s elected officials are one with him,” the governor said which elicited a loud applause from those present. For her part, Cong. Yap, in her inaugural speech, vowed to make the second district and the entire province more progressive with new infrastructure projects and the continuation of the legacy of their late father former Cong. Jose “Aping” Yap, who passed-away on March this year. Cong. Yap made history by becoming the first elected lady Representative of the second congressional district of the province. The simple rites attended by different national, municipal and barangay officials, the judiciary, business, religious and civic organizations, the academe, law enforcers, capitol employees, elected official’s family members and other well-wishers Several elected local officials from different municipalities also took their oath of office from Gov.
